Our Mission Statement

The Kent County Emergency Services Team (KCEST) prepares and mobilizes volunteers to strengthen community resilience, support vulnerable populations, and provide trusted emergency services before, during, and after disasters.

What We Do

The Kent County Emergency Services Team (KCEST) is a volunteer-driven organization that supports communities through emergency preparedness, disaster response, and public safety partnerships.

We provide emergency communications, search and rescue support, disaster operations assistance, community preparedness education, and volunteer training throughout Kent County and West Michigan. Our team works alongside emergency management, public safety agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations to expand local response capacity during critical incidents and disasters.

KCEST also invests in long-term community resilience by teaching practical preparedness skills, developing future volunteer leaders, and helping ensure that underserved and vulnerable communities have access to emergency resources, information, and support when they need it most.

Whether supporting a search operation, staffing emergency communications, assisting during severe weather events, or helping communities prepare before disaster strikes, KCEST exists to help communities respond together and recover stronger.
